Dr Mellanie Rollans, PhD, is a mental health nurse consultant and specialised practitioner with women, children and families for over 30 years and is currently operating a private practice via Telehealth Psychiatry offering phone or zoom consultation. Dr Rollans is a dynamic parenting educator who is passionate about supporting families through the transition of parenthood. Dr Rollans' intention with her therapy is to provide parents with strategies and information to simplify parenting and assist in establishing the first steps in confident parenthood.
Dr Rollans has developed services for women, children and families in managerial roles within government mental health services and managed and implemented programs for vulnerable families internationally. She is credentialed as a mental health nurse, a Clinical Masters in Mental Health, and a Doctorate in the specialised area of Perinatal and Infant Mental Health. Dr Rollans is published both internationally and locally via various media such as ABC, local Television and Sydney Morning Herald.
Having a strong commitment to early intervention and prevention, Dr Rollans has researched the area of social and emotional wellbeing of women in the perinatal period and is an internationally published author. She presents her knowledge and education in a dynamic way in both urban and rural Australia working with non-indigenous and indigenous Australians, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, and internationally in countries such as United Kingdom, South Korea and Brazil. Dr Rollans also an Honorary Mental Health Academic at the University of Technology, Sydney lecturing in Perinatal and Infant Mental Health and supervising PhD students.
